Home compostable packaging is used in home composting environments and start to degrade within 12 months at ambient temperatures and with natural microbial communities.
Industrial compostable packaging is used in commercial composting environments and start to degrade within 6 months at high temperatures and with microbial activity.
In order to ensure that the compostable packaging can be used normally, the compostable packaging should be stored away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Recommended storage temperature: 17°C-23°C
- Relative humidity: 35%-55%.
The compostable packaging is suitable for use within 6-12 months from the date of delivery. However, due to different storage temperature, humidity, light and other influencing factors, it is not possible to give a precise shelf life for compostable packaging.
